About

Meral Aktan is a graduate of the Sculpture Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She brings a sculptor's feel for volume, surface and material to film, and builds each character's world through space.

For her, a location is never just a backdrop. It carries the characters' past, their surroundings and their state of mind. Transforming real places, working with material and texture, and catching the small details of everyday life are at the heart of her design.

She works as a production designer and art director on national and international features and shorts.
